Today, You can find teddy bears in all different sorts of shapes, colors and sizes. You can even find teddy’s made of stone while others are soft enough to sleep on. It is understandable that with so many different bears out there it is pretty hard to figure out which ones are collectible teddy bears and which aren’t. However, there are a some reputable companies out there that stand out amongst all those others. These companies primarily are Gund, Merrythought and Boyds. Each of these companies has its own rich history and remarkable teddy bears that keep people like You and me just coming back for more.

First let me tell You about Boyds Bears company. They started out in Maryland in 1979, but they weren’t selling bears, they were in business of “painting ducks”. When Mr. Boyd got sick of painting ducks he decided to start working on the teddy bears. Soon enough they started creating their first bears and these became known as “The Boyds Bear Collection”. This collection includes Pooches, Moose, Hares, Tabbies and a few others. It would be very smart and worth investing in but beware to keep the box the teddy came with because Your collectable teddy bear without the box wouldn’t be worth as much as they could be.

Have You heard of the phrase “Gotta Getta Gund”? Gund Teddy bears are known for this popular phrase and of course their adorable little teddy bears. The Gund Teddy Bear have their own collectible teddy bears and the are Muttsy and Snuffles the bear. The main characteristic of this company was in their under stuffing policy which made Gund teddy bears so soft. This was the main reason why so many kept going back to them.

The teddy bears worth having are definitely the ones from the Merrythought teddy bear company. This company went out of business in 2006 and this made its already collectible teddy bears that much more valuable. One of these collectible bears is the Cheeky Bear and You can recognize it easily because each bear has a tiny bell in each ear.

Some other types of collectible teddy bears would be any type of limited edition teddy bears and the priceless antique bears. It would be wise to check if You already have any collectible teddy bears at home? If You do, please take good care of them!
