Fictional Teddy Bears In Our Lives

You may or may not know that fictional teddy bears have been around longer than any of us and they have a very dear part in many of our memories. Our memories are filled with details from our own teddy bears to those fictional ones we watched every day. There is always something we remember about them. From Winnie the Pooh to The Bernstein Bears there were a great number of cartoons that were based on teddy bears.

Probably the main reason teddies were so represented everywhere is because teddy bears can create a lot of imagination in our minds. This is probably why author A. A. Milne was able to come up with so many of the Winnie the Pooh stories. He created Winnie the Pooh based on a teddy bear that was in his son’s room. Never the less, the actual teddy bear was a girl named Winnipeg. You can see how imagination played a big part in creating Winnie the Pooh when You notice that the teddy bears that represent Winnie the Pooh are a bright yellow color which is nothing near what the original teddy looked like. Original bear had stiff arms that moved up and down and it didn’t wore a red shirt. Winnie the Pooh has spread immensely in our culture so today You can find Winnie the Pooh coloring pages, Winnie the pooh desktop wallpapers, Winnie the pooh cell phone theme song, Winnie the pooh cakes and so many more.

Another cartoon bear called Brer Bear lived in the forest as a farmer with his wife and little bear children. He always had to chase away mean wolves. You can’t find too many teddy bears that resemble Brer Bear. If Brer Bear was created to talk, I could picture him with southern accent because the original storyteller, Uncle Remus had a very southern accent. His accent was so strong so when he said brother it sounded like Bre’r. Brer bear dates all the way back to 1919 when he first appeared in cartoon.

Do you remember the teddy bear that always had time for You and read stories out of a book to you? I remember very well my dear old Teddy Ruxpin, he was the greatest out of all my teddy bears. Teddy Ruxpin (created in early 80’s) was recreated four times before all the flaws were fixed but this wouldn’t stop kids from loving these fictional teddy bear.

Teddy Ruxpin

Teddy Ruxpin - In 1985 Teddy Ruxpin was “the” toy to have! And he’s more fun than ever, still enchanting young and old with his amazing animation and gentle personality (if you want him for yourself we won’t tell)! Simply insert the included story cartridge into the slot on his back, and push “play.” His eyes and mouth move as he narrates fun stories and sings songs as children, depending on their ages, follow along in the included picture/or story/song books!

Another fictional teddy bear was Paddington bear. This teddy bear always went on adventures and got himself in all sort of troubles. This teddy bear was bought by a couple that thought he needed a home. Later he would be written into stories by the same couple creating out of him a part of cartoon history. Paddington teddy bears all wore a worn hat and carried around a suitcase for the adventure travels.

Living in a tree house are a Berenstein Bears a fictional bear family. This family includes mother, father, brother and a sister bear. The stories are closely related to real families, such as eating junk food, telling lies, bullies, first day of school and many other issues that children can relate too.

As you can see fictional teddy bears have been here for a while and will be here for many more years to come. Do you remember any other fictional teddy bears that I didn’t mention here and who deserve to be mentioned? Write them down in the comment bar as You see fit.
